'Brick & Basil Pizzeria began with a simple dream: to bring authentic Neapolitan pizza to London. Founded by the Carter family in 1985, our pizzeria started as a small, family-run establishment with recipes handed down through generations.

Oliver Carter, our founder, learned the craft of pizza-making while traveling across Italy, apprenticing under master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. Upon returning to the UK, she was determined to recreate the magic of true Italian pizza, using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients.

What started as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a beloved local institution, yet our dedication to quality and authenticity has never faltered. We still rely on wood-fired oven methods, prepare our dough fresh daily, and source the best ingredients available.

Today, 'Brick & Basil Pizzeria remains family-owned and operated, with the second generation of the Carter family now leading our dedicated team. While we’ve embraced some modern innovations, the core of our business remains unchanged: creating delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
